AZ recap; Sterling is a crappy stage name for a guy;moisterize me, moisterize me

So back from vacation, diving back into the real world with a vengeance. Work and social life rumbling into overdrive without really feeling it.  Sorta like a red mustang. Of course, I had a minor vacation romance, and, of course, I was a total sucker for a hot guy with a good story. I believed a whole mythology of BS only to have it all washout when the details started raining down. Whatever. It was vacation.

Maybe my problem is not that I’m too much a sucker when it comes to meeting new guys, but not enough of one. I mean the kid lives in AZ, wouldn’t it have been nice to just keep the fantasy rather than get disabused of it the more I got to know him?

I’m being too introspective lately, both because I’m hitting a birthday soon and also because I have been spending far too much time alone. Thinking of Stewie as a surrogate boyfriend hasn’t actually worked (apparently its not just women with cats who fall into that trap). I love Fall. It’s a season of introspection, especially in this part of the country. but for the next couple of weeks I’m not gonna over-think things. I’m going to get out and see Boston during its best time of year and spend it with my friends, but I’m also getting back to my New Year’s resolution to date more, and to say yes more than no.

I also scored dinner with my best friend from high school, the guy I didn’t speak to for more than a decade, which was pretty awesome; made it out to Sedona, disappointing; rode in a hot air balloon, stellar; and got hit on during the plane ride back home, a first for me.

And to anyone who tells you “Yeah it’s hot but it’s a dry heat.” Yeah, because standing on a bonfire facing the flame for a week for is so good for your skin. Seriously, my face aged a year in a week despite applying sunscreen like it was my job. Anyone see the beginning of the new Dr. Who?

Birthday-Smirthday, I'm *still* older and crankier, and now, soon to be jobless; because, you guessed it, I work for Bombay Company, which is closing *all* its US stores! F--k--s! So, I win! Yay me... *sigh*. As for the alone time, well, all I can say is I hope it gets better. I'd say come to NY for a week-end, but I doubt I'd be good company, didn't I say F--k--s??!!
